The
White Rock Promenade:
One of White Rock's finest attractions, the
promenade is 7,200 feet long and provides a walkway
between east beach &
west beach, complete
with memorials and information stops along the way.
The White Rock Pier:
The pier is a historic landmark dating back
to the 1920's and one of White Rock's finest tourist
attractions boasting over 1,559 feet of boardwalk.
Featuring a boat launch for sea faring visitors, the
pier attracts a multitude of strollers, sea gulls,
crab fishers and pier jumpers in the hot summer months.
The White Rock:
White Rock's namesake, is located at west
beach, just to the left of the pier and weighs in at 486.63 tons!
The
White Rock Museum & Archives
A community association dedicated to preserving
and promoting local history and culture in White Rock,
BC. The Museum is located in the historic White Rock
Train Station building on Marine Drive.
The
Gift:
Two totem poles located at east
beach commemorate the RCMP's 125th Anniversary
and represent the bridging of the two cultures of
the Semiahmoo
First Nations and the RCMP.
The Grizzly:
Frank Slaven dedicated his Grizzly sculpture,
located at east beach, as a tribute to his son, Lee
Slaven.
Memorial Park:
Located at west beach,
adjacent to the WRSS Chamber
of Commerce Tourist Kiosk. This oceanside park
attracts sun worshippers each summer, and is favored
by both tourists & locals.
Blackie Spit:
Located in Crescent
Beach, this naturalist locale is a fond favorite
of bird watchers, featuring trails and views of both
Boundary and Mud Bays.
Serpentine Fen: Located at King George Hwy
and 44th Avenue, the Fen is a natural habitat for
wildlife, waterfowl & birds, complete with viewing
towers for bird watchers.
Historic
Stewart Farm:
Located
in the Elgin Heritage Park on the banks of the Nicomekl
River near Crescent Beach, the Historic Stewart Farm
was settled in the 1880s and operated for six decades
as a thriving hay farm and represents what life was
like at the turn of the century.
White Rock Waterfront Concert Series features musical groups (acoustic) and musicians who perform on White Rock's waterfront plaza, in front of the Station Arts Center on Marine Drive, on weekends during July and August. |
