calls for help each year. Volunteers drive for
seniors and answer calls for information. Caring
professionals work with families in distress.
The food bank, treatment facilities, group homes,

are among the many programs provided by Peace
Arch Community Services.

The Come Share Adult Day Care Centre is a therapeutic
recreational program providing support to clients
and their caregivers. Our two Adult Day programs
are contracted by the Fraser Health Authority
to provide a variety of recreational, educational,
therapeutic and social supports to the frail elderly
living in the community. Activities of daily living,
personal care and health monitoring all contribute
to assisting clients to achieve as much independence
as possible. |

Health Services
An outpatient geriatric service for people living
in White Rock/South Surrey. An interdisciplinary
team of health professionals provides assessment
and treatment for older adults who have experienced
a recent change in ability to live independently
due to changes in physical and/or mental health.
Open referral, although family physician consent
is required. |

The Seniors Housing Information Program is a non-profit
organization which provides information on housing
and services for seniors living in or wishing
to live in the Vancouver and the Lower Mainland
of British Columbia. |

The Caregivers Association of British Columbia
(CABC) is a provincial non-profit charitable grassroots-based
organisation formed in March 1993 to support,
educate and advocate for unpaid family caregivers
in British Columbia. |

Provides Community Mental Health Services for
adults. Multidisciplinary teams consisting of
nurses, psychologists, psychiatrists, general
practitioners, and social workers offer assessment
and screening, treatment and counselling, supportive
case management, pharmacotherapy, consultative
services, assertive case management services,
and referrals. The Community Residential Program
offers a variety of supported housing options. |
